Composer Cliff Martinez, known for his work on “Drive,” “Traffic” and many other hit films, has just committed to score the upcoming third and final “Wolverine” film, according to Film Music Reporter. This marks the first time Martinez will work on a superhero movie.
Martinez’s last project was Nicolas Winding Refn’s “The Neon Demon,” the thriller challenged him to create one of the longest musical pieces for a film. He also worked on the score for the comedy “War Dogs” starring Miles Teller and Jonah Hill and has Martin Campbell’s “The Foreigner” in the works.
Other memorable pieces crafted by the composer include Harmony Korine’s “Spring Breakers,” Steven Soderbergh’s “Contagion” and the Cinemax series “The Knick.”
The untitled “Wolverine” action flick will be released on March 3, 2017.
