Here’s great news if you loved the retro synthpop music of Drive. Its composer, the talented Cliff Martinez, has signed on to score James Mangold’s untitled third solo Wolverine film.
In addition to the critically lauded cult classic, Drive, Martinez has worked on a number of other acclaimed projects including Traffic, Spring Breakers and the Cinemax series The Knick. Most recently, he’s done work on The Neon Demon, which is in theaters now, and War Dogs, which will be released near the end of the summer.
With Mangold directing, Martinez scoring and an R rating being implemented, it looks like we’re in store for one of the more unique and artistic superhero movies in the same vein as Watchmen, X-Men: Days of Future Past or Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.
The next Wolverine film is set to be released on March 3, 2017 by 20th Century Fox.
